Sonia Gavira is an executive and
leadership coach, with a background in marketing and strategy to Director level.
She also works as a trainer and group facilitator. She has over 15 years experience
of working in these areas across a number of sectors spanning both manufacturing
and service industries. Her career to date has enabled her to manage large scale
projects across international boundaries.
Today, Sonia's interests lie in the development of high potential individuals and
teams and the impact that has on the organisation as a whole. Her emphasis is on
the link between the external strategy of an organisation and how that is linked
to the development of its people. Her experience covers both personal development
on a one to one basis at senior and executive levels, as well as facilitating and
developing teams.
Sonia backs up her experience with solid qualifications. She graduated from Ashridge
Management College with an MBA in 1999, winning the KPMG prize for the best live
consultancy project. With academic rigour as a given at Ashridge, they pride themselves
on the practical nature of their MBA, so all consultancy projects undertaken there
are commissioned by paying clients. She also holds qualifications in Marketing,
a degree in modern languages, is a qualified NLP Coach and is accredited by the
International Coaching Federation.
Sonia's coaching style has been described as challenging and commercial whilst also
warm, empathetic and fun. Sonia has been trained in the use of a number of behavioural
and psychometric tools which she uses when appropriate to inform the coaching and
help individuals and teams become more aware of their behaviour as well as to gain
congruency with what is important to them. These range from 30 inventories on leadership,
emotional intelligence and personal impact to behavioural tools such as BASIS, DISC,
PIAV and psychometric tools such a Myers Briggs, True Colors and Strengthscope.
On a personal note, Sonia is married with two young boys. Being Spanish and having
most of her family out in southern Spain, she spends many holidays in the region
indulging her love of good food, good wine and good company.
